Bert Visser is Oxfam’s SD=HS Scientific Advisor. For twenty years, he was the director of the Netherlands genebank (crops and farm animals) based in Wageningen, the Netherlands. In this period, he participated in a series of projects focusing on-farm management of plant genetic resources for food and agriculture. He has been internationally active in promoting crop and food diversity, including as a policy advisor to the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture and the European Commission.
